Our company is a venture company started from the Kanagawa Institute of Technology. Specializing in hydrogen technology resultant from the university's research, we design and develop hydrogen generation equipment, as well as develop and manufacture hydrogen combustion equipment. A lot of attention is being paid currently to hydrogen from the fields of medicine, nursing, agriculture, and the home. As such we are providing hydrogen generation equipment matched to the needs of each field. By providing domestically produced hydrogen generation equipment with guaranteed trustworthiness to companies considering the manufacture of hydrogen and hydrogen water at a price affordable for even individuals, our company is contributing to raising the curtain on a new hydrogen-based society.

The Kanagawa Prefectural Council for Promoting Business and Industrial Establishment was established in 1994 in order to promote initiatives for attracting companies in collaboration with the prefecture, municipalities in the prefecture, affiliated organizations, and private-sector companies. Currently, we are made up of 26 organizations, and we provide the necessary guidance regarding “regional industry projects,” participate in exhibitions, and engage in public relations activities.

When companies are set up in Kanagawa Prefecture, we provide information on financing systems and assistance systems that they can use inside the prefecture and in municipalities inside the prefecture. We also introduce industrial land, research institute, and training facility sites where public institutions are engaging in reclamation and sales for regional industry projects in Kanagawa Prefecture.

The Kanagawa Institute of Technology is located in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a university that has 5 faculties of the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Creative Engineering, Facility of Applied Bioscience, and Faculty of Information Technology, and 13 departments. It cultivates specialists that are needed by society to identify and solve problems. The Institute for Advanced Utilization of Solar Energy is building upon component technologies that it developed as part of the FY2007 “High-Tech Research Center Project for Private Universities,” to move forward with research and practical applications such as the highly efficient power conversion of solar energy, the effective use of all-weather solar heat, hydrogen storage and use, fuel cell systems, electric fixed-route bus systems, and campus energy systems.

We will exhibit a battery charging system that is charged with electricity produced from an exercise bicycle mounted with an internal generator. The characteristics of this system are that it can be used on campus, with users being able to manage their electricity generation amount and also experience a virtual outside riding session--based on generation amount--through their smartphone using virtual reality (VR) technology.

The Kawasaki Environment Research Institute was opened in the Kawasaki Life Science and Environment Research Center located in Tonomachi International Strategic Base. We carry out comprehensive research on the environment in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the National Institute for Environmental Studies, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), universities and other external research institutes, and companies in the city that have outstanding environmental technologies.

We will introduce an overview of joint research projects based on collaboration between industry, academia, and citizens related to environmental technologies that are being implemented at the Kawasaki Environment Research Institute, as well as introduce bilateral credit large-scale projects aimed of realizing low-carbon societies in Asia.

The Kawasaki coastal area has driven the development of industry in Japan, and in recent years, its factories and coastal facilities, etc. have been garnering attention as "sightseeing resources". In addition, it has the important role of acting as a supply base for various kinds of energy. We will introduce the current status of this coastal area.

We will collaborate with the Non-Profit Organization Liaison Center and the Committee for Synergy in the Keihin Industrial Complex, and introduce initiatives such as the strengthening of competitiveness based on collaboration among coastal area companies, and the reduction of environmental burden.

We will contribute to regional economic vitality by supporting the computerization and interaction of small and medium enterprises, as well as by providing information on technology and management.

Aiming for a rich future that is kind to people, KPRI's (faculty of science and technology) ""photonics polymer project"" is proposing ""the world's fastest plastic fiber optics"" and ""high definition displays"". Japan's proprietary photonics polymer technology is showing signs of being deployed in a diverse range of industrial fields, beginning with the medical field, which usually leads other fields in the world in technology.

Japan will start the 4K/8K broadcasting ahead of the world. We introduce the world's fastest plastic optical fiber that enables a real-time transmission of the staggering amount of information. Our photonics polymers also bring innovation to the liquid crystal display structure which becomes larger and more complicated.

The initiatives related to increasing the efficiency of business activities and saving energy that we carry out at the Committee for Synergy in the Keihin Industrial Complex, are already being carried out at individual companies. So in order to develop these initiatives further, we need to promote collaboration among companies that goes beyond the barriers between different types of industries. Our committee is includes 14 companies from a wide range of industries, such as petroleum refining, petrochemicals, iron and steel, chemicals, cement, power, and gas. We have set forth a goal of “building a smart Keihin industrial complex,” and thus we are aiming to develop a complex that serves as a model for the world with a virtuous cycle from the harmony between industry and the environment, and production with a small burden on the environment.

We will introduce specific examples of studies regarding collaboration between companies in relation to the effective utilization of by-products and unused energy, conducted by members of an examination committee that was established from a diverse array of industries. Committee member industries include petroleum refining, petrochemical, and iron and steel, with the aim of conveying a model for the world with a virtuous cycle from the harmony between industry and the environment, and production with a small burden on the environment.

The Center for Global Communications (GLOCOM) was established as an affiliated research institute of the International University of Japan (IUJ) in 1991. Since our establishment, we have been aiming to be a cutting-edge research institution that acts as a nexus for industry-government-academia collaboration that is always cognizant of new social trends. Our activities are centered around interdisciplinary Japanese research, as well as the research and implementation of an information society based on the development and proliferation of information communications technology.

We will show the results of “the joint research project Kawasaki Time Machine: a dialogue about the environment and Kawasaki’s past and present which is related to support for community vitalization using environmental information and photo data” that is being carried out as a public joint research project with collaboration among industries, academia, and citizens in the area of environmental technology.

In FY2015, Tokyo City University has been researching versatile methods to realize low-carbon communities to create low-carbon environments in already existing cities. Specifically, we are carrying out (1) effective use of vacant lots and evaluation of the effects, (2) shopping arcade eco-point system and evaluation of the effects, (3) grasping what is required to facilitate the proliferation of unified low-carbon city making activities in shopping arcades and surrounding areas, as well as deployment proposals, (4) consideration methods for stepped introduction of environmental technologies into already existing cities, and regional database creation.

The Liaison Center for Creation of Industry and Environment was created in August 2004 by 13 volunteer companies centered on enterprises located in the Kawasaki coastal area. The center took on the Keihin coastal area as its main field and put forth a platform to collaborate with government-academia-industry and local citizens, and is now promoting activities aiming to vitalize industry and contribute to solving energy problems.

We will have panels and pamphlets about the content of our activities. We will also be giving away "eco-bags" to those who answer a quiz about the Kawasaki coastal area.

The Institute performs activities under the education and research principle of “development of social intelligence”. We have been exhibiting the results of applying information technology to environmental problems at the Kawasaki International Eco-Tech Fair every year since the first year.

The Kanto Branch of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association is regional branch of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association that is comprised of attorneys from Tokyo and seven other prefectures (Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture, Chiba Prefecture, Saitama Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture, Gunma Prefecture, Tochigi Prefecture, and Yamanashi Prefecture). We are working for the development of the industrial economy in the Kanto Region by conducting activities for the proliferation and support of intellectual property rights.

Patent attorneys will provide consultation regarding application procedures of patents, utility models, design and trademarks as well as troubles related to them free of charge. Furthermore, we will distribute various pamphlets explaining intellectual property rights in an easily understood manner.
